Isotonicity

An isotonic solution has the same osmotic pressure as human blood. This also means that the concentration of minerals is equivalent to that of the blood in order to make sure that the body assimilates the vitamins and minerals contained in an isotonic solution more quickly than those e.g. contained in water.
